- La Alteña distillery in 1937 was founded by Don Felipe de Jesus Camarena
- Don Felipe couldn’t sell his agave in the Valley of Tequila, so he decided to open his own distillery and produce his own tequila to save his crop
- Back 80 years ago, it took 12 years to fully mature agave.
