Sofia Partida is a Tequila industry veteran of 20 years. She strengthened her families Tequila legacy with the creation of Tequila Partida which she co-founded in 2004. Sofia used this as an opportunity to bring Mexico’s reverence of tequila to the U.S. consumer thru thoughtful tasting and education.

She introduced then led the movement of Sipping Tequila like a fine wine with elevated tasting events like Tequila Dinners. Tequila Partida was sold last year and Sofia expanded her knowledge by becoming certified as a tequila Sommelier through the International Academy of Tequila.

Sofia now joins the ITA International Tequila Academy as Vice President U.S. and lead educator in the Las Vegas & California markets.

She offers Tequila Education certification for restaurant staff to better understand the overwhelming and misunderstood tequila landscape. Sofia said that “my purpose for the last 20 years was to share every process of Tequila focusing on one brand, and now that purpose has expanded to the industry as a whole”. She adds, “I would love to see the day that guests are offered a Tequila Sommelier experience, and that it becomes just as common as the Wine Sommelier experience.” “We are a long way from there but that is our goal with this program.”
